Celebration of Dhaka's 400 years opens tomorrow
Chief Adviser (CA) Fakhruddin Ahmed will inaugurate a three-year-long programme in celebration of 400 years of Dhaka city at south plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban tomorrow.
LGRD and Cooperatives Adviser M Anwarul Iqbal will attend the function as special guest with Cultural Adviser Rasheda K Chowdhury in the chair, an official announcement said yesterday.
The slogan of the colourful programme is 'Ahen Moji Furtitey' (come and enjoy).
On November 29, a daylong programme includes area and ward-based processions with elephants and horses, boat race, kite flying, Dhakaiya food and Bakarkhwani festival, old car display, children's painting exhibition, puppet show and cultural function.
Besides, the chief adviser will release commemorative postage stamp on the inaugural day. Different socio-cultural organisations will also organise their respective programmes.
Bangladesh Television (BTV) and private TV channels will telecast live the inaugural function.
