Firearms, 300 phensidyl bottles seized
Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) seized three firearms, and 300 bottles of phensidyl and 700 grams of ganja in separate drives in Comilla and in Cox's Bazar yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, Rab raided at Meherghona in Cox's Bazar city where some arms trader gathered at around 1:15am.
Sensing presence of the Rab, the arms traders and criminals escaped the scene leaving two local-made guns, a single-barrel gun and four rounds of bullet.
In another drive in Comilla, Rab seized 300 bottles of phensidyl and 700 grams of ganja, and detained Mohammad Amir Hossain, 22, son of late Nurul Islam of Comilla, in this connection from Syed Shah Road under Bakolia Police Station at around 12:45am.
They also seized a microbus used to carry the phensidyl.
