4-party gains in Khulna-6, AL in Khulna-1
Delimitation of Khulna-6 (Koira-Paikgachha) constituency has affected vote bank of Awami League (AL) and benefited BNP-led four-party alliance as Deluti union has been sliced from Khulna-6 and added with Khulna-1 (Dakope-Batiaghata) constituency.
Addition of Deluti union with Khulna-1 constituency has benefited the probable candidate of AL-led 14-party alliance there.
The union with 10,849 voters, mostly belonging to minority community, is considered as a vote bank for Awami League and so, exclusion of the area has made an advantageous situation for the four-party alliance candidate to win in Khulna-6 constituency.
Now the number of voters in Khulna-6 has come down to 2,81,297 while the delimitation has raised number of voters in Khulna-1 constituency to 2,17,730.
