Tk 19 lakh mugged from Ctg petrol pump staff

Muggers took away Tk 18.95 lakh from the staff of a filling station near Kadam Rasul area of Sitakunda upazila yesterday.
One of the staff was injured in the incident.
Sources said three staff of Dalas Filling Station at Madambibir Hat on Dhaka-Chittagong highway carrying the money left for the port city by a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at about 12:30pm. When they reached Kadam Rasul, two muggers on a motorbike stopped them. Some of their accomplices also reached the spot by an auto-rickshaw.
When Jahangir, one of the staff, tried to resist the muggers, they fired on him leaving him wounded.
Local people caught one of the muggers while others managed to flee with the money.
Jahangir was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
A case was filed with Sitakunda Police Station.
