Akhaura Land Port resumes function today

Akhaura Land Port Export and Import Association is going to resume their functioning from today as the authorities has repaired the unfit parts of Darker Akhaura land port road during last three days.
Functioning at Akhaura Land Port stopped due to work abstention programme called by Akhaura Land Port Exporters and Importers Association on Saturday. The association called the programme due to several causes including unfit road communication and lack of LC service in the port.
Earlier on Wednesday, they submitted a memorandum to Brahmanbaria Deputy Commissioner through Akhaura upazila nirbahi office in this regard.
As a large portion of 16 kilometre long Darker--Akhaura land port road including seven bridges on it has remained in a very bad shape for long, movement of heavy vehicles became very risky and costly. Besides, traders are facing difficulties in absence of LC service and banking facilities at the port.
