Demolition of Lalon's sculpture protested in B'baria, Tangail

Brahmanbaria unit of Sammilita Sangskritik Jote, joined by at least 25 other socio-cultural organizations and freedom fighters, formed a human chain and brought out a silent procession in the town yesterday protesting demolition of Lalon's sculpture near Zia International Airport in Dhaka.
Other bodies who joined the protest programme are Sushashoner Jonnya Nagorik, Muktijuddha Smriti Sangsad, Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee, Udichi Shilpi Gusti, Khela Ghar Sangathan, Jatya Kabita Porishad, Mahila Porishad, Nari Mukti Sangatha, Anushilon Sangkritic Sangathan, Jatiya Krishak Samity, Brahmanbaria Shahitiya Academy, Titas Shahitiya Sangskritic Sangahan, Jatiya Gana Front, Titas Abriti Sangathan, Gunijan Sambardana Porishad, Jugantar Sajan Samabesh, Prtham Alo Bandhu Shabha and Ganatantrik Sramik Federation.
The workers of the all organizations gathered in the commertial point in the district. They headed by brought out a silent procession in the main road of the town protesting the demolition of Lalon's sculpture.
The human chain was formed in front of Brahmanabria Press Club after the procession led by Abdun Noor, convener of Brahmanbaria Sammilita Sangkritik Jote and Prof Md. Muklesur Rahman Khan, president of Sushashoner Jannya Nagorik,.
They demanded re-installation of the sculpture at its original place and steps against those who are conspiring against Bangla culture and heritage.
In Tangail, students of Maulana Bhasani University of Science and Technology (MBUST) under the banner of Sachetan Chhatra Samaj held a rally and formed a human chain on the campus protesting the vandalish by zealots.
They condemned the act and demanded re-installation of the sculpture.
