Ex-state minister Shahjahan Omar sued
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday filed a case against former state minister Shahjahan Omar accusing him of amassing wealth through illegal means.
His wife Mehjabin Farjana Omar and son Adnan Omar have been made co-accused in the case filed with Gulshan Police Station at about 3:00pm.
In the FIR, ACC Assistant Director Sheikh Mejbahuddin said Shahjahan acquired wealth worth over Tk 2.39 crore through illegal means, which was not included in his wealth statement submitted to the ACC.
The case was filed under section 26(2), 27(1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2004, section 109 of Bangladesh Penal Code and 15(Gha) (5) of the Emergency Power Rules 2007.
