Russia keen to import garments

Russia could emerge as an attractive market for Bangladesh's ready made garments (RMG) as the Russian buyers showed huge interest in the item at a recent textile fair in Moscow.
During the fair a delegation comprising representatives of BGMEA (Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association), EPB (Export Promotion Bureau), and Bangladesh mission in Moscow exchanged views with the representatives of Bank of Moscow and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russian Federation , a BGMEA press release said.
During the view exchange programme, the Russian delegation expressed their satisfaction over Bangladesh apparels and also showed interest in importing RMG products from Bangladesh.
A total of 14 RMG manufacturers from Bangladesh participated in the fair.
Besides Bangladesh, Turkey, China, Germany and Russian Federation took part in the fair.
The three-day fair was held between September 17-20.
