Five cops suspended as accused escapes

Five policemen including Sub Inspector Abul Kalam of Terokheda police station in Khulna were suspended yesterday for alleged negligence of duty.
The four others are constables Md Mir Mian, Jashimuddin, Rezaul Karim and Din Mohammod.
According to Khulna police superintendent, FIR-named accused of a theft and rioting case--Phul Mia--was arrested on September 21 from Aarkkand village in Terokheda upazila.
But the arrested handcuffed accused escaped from custody while being taken to police station.
Police rearrested Phul Mia Monday night from his uncle's house at Dariala village in Mollahat upazila in Bagerhat district.
