Next hearing Dec 15

The special court trying Niko corruption case against detained former premier Khaleda Zia and 10 others yesterday set December 15 for next hearing as the High Court (HC) extended the tenure of its stay order.
Judge Khandaker Kamal Uz-zaman of the Special Court-9 fixed the date after the defence submitted the certified copy of the extended stay order.
The HC recently extended the tenure of its stay of the case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The BNP chairperson was not produced before the special court on the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban premises yesterday.
On December 9 last year, the ACC filed the case with Tejgaon Police Station for abuse of power in awarding a gas exploration and extraction deal to Canadian company Niko when Khaleda was the prime minister.
