Fun unlimited on airwaves
Radio Foorti celebrated its first anniversary recently. The popular FM radio station started its journey on August 17, 2006 with experimental transmission. But from September 21 last year, it officially started its 24-hour programme.
Besides airing regular programmes, Radio Foorti has contributed to some social welfare and developmental works over the past year, says a press release. At present the radio station is running a campaign called “Magnificent Seven Search of Bangladesh” -- a search for the best seven structural designs in our country. Radio Foorti is conducting the selection through votes from the audience. The radio station also arranged a concert for flood victims, earlier this year, in collaboration with Hotel Sheraton and donated Tk 2 lakh to the Chief Advisor's relief fund.
Radio Foorti was one of the media partners of the recently ended talent hunt programme DrockStars 2.
The Dhaka-based radio station's area of transmission is nearly 150 km. Audiences of the 12 neighbouring districts can also listen to Radio Foorti.
Initially its frequency was 98.4 FM but the Dhaka transmission was recently changed to 88.0 FM. Chittagong listeners can still listen to Radio Foorti on 98.4FM.
Audiences can also log on to www.radiofoorti.fm for more information.
