Charge hearing deferred until September 11
The charge hearing in the case of killings in the August 21, 2004 grenade attack on an Awami League rally was again deferred to September 11 due to procedural flaws.
The Speedy Trial Tribunal (STT)-1, after examining the case documents, re-fixed the date for the hearing.
Earlier, the Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court had transferred the case to the STT following a notification of the home ministry.
Another charge hearing on the grenade attack will be held at the same court on September 21.
At least 22 people, including AL leader Ivy Rahman, were killed and several hundred, including AL chief Sheikh Hasina, were injured in the grenade attacks on the party's rally at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on August 21, 2004.
