Absconder gets life for killing wife in Barisal

First Additional District and Sessions Judge Court of Barisal, in a verdict pronounced here yesterday, sentenced an absconder named Alamgir Hossain Kazi to life term rigorous imprisonment (RI) for killing his wife Henera Begum.
Alamgir married for second time without taking permission of his first wife Henera.
On pretext of a compromise meeting elsewhere, Alamgir brought Henera out of his hoose and beat her to death on the way at night on March 29, 2005.
Later, the culprit hung the body with a roadside tree in Shialghuni in Bakerganj upazila to prove the killing as a suicide.
Police recovered the body and a murder case was lodged by the victim's elder brother with Bakerganj Police Station on March 30, 2005. Since then Alamgir was absconding.
Sub Inspector Sheikh Shahjahan, also investigation officer of the case, submitted charge sheet against the accused on August 28, 2005.
