Arnob's upcoming concert tour in Canada, US, and UK
Arnob
Drishtipat, is organising a UK and North America tour -- in Chicago, Washington DC, New York City, Toronto, and London -- to mark its 5th anniversary, says a press release.
Drishtipat, a global human rights organisation focusing on Bangladesh, has been promoting human rights and social justice. It is a unique effort by expat Bangladeshis working with local, national and international partners to promote social enterprises, capacity building projects and generate awareness on human rights violations.
Along with paying rich tribute to the various projects, these concerts will give the audience an opportunity to meet and hear the music of highly acclaimed and talented artiste Arnob along with his fellow band members Andrew Morris, a brilliant jazz saxophonist; Nazrul, dhol player par excellence; Dhrubo, the bassist; Jibon, drummer and Nazia as backup vocalist.
Talented local artistes are being roped to perform as opening acts to make this event remarkable. "It's an honour to perform for Drishtipat as this is for a great cause and also this tour will give me the chance to present my music to the world," said Arnob.
"We are thrilled to have Arnob and his band in this tour. This will not only enable us to highlight the new emerging talents in the Bangladeshi music scene but also present Bangladesh in a new light to the Western audience by breaking some stereotypes. We will celebrate the resilience of Bangladeshi people by championing Drishtipat's core causes," said Asif Saleh, founder of Drishtipat.
The grand musical benefit is organised for the aid of Drishtipat's upcoming 2009 projects -- targeted towards a mission to ensure basic rights for all Bangladeshis.
