Brother, brother-in-law murdered Swapan

Reveals police investigation

Police have come to the conclusions that Swapan Barai, a carpenter who was killed in the city's Khilkhet area six days ago, had been murdered by his brother Dulal Barai and brother-in-law Nokul Mandal.
Police recovered the body of Swapan, 35, of Munshiganj district, from an underground water tank of an under-construction building at North Para under Khilkhet Police Station on July 15.
Dulal filed a case with Khilkhet PS accusing one contractor Sanaullah and three others.
But during the investigation, police became suspicious over the movement of Nokul.
Khilkhet police said on July 18 they arrested Nokul who confessed that he and Dulal killed Swapan on July 13 by hitting with a brick following a family feud. Later, they dumped the body in the water tank.
Nokul also gave a confessional statement before a magistrate. However, Swapan had gone into hiding.
