Reforms to police ordn a demand of time, says IGP
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Noor Mohammad yesterday said reforms to police ordinance is a demand of time.
The IGP was addressing a meeting organised here yesterday to exchange views with elite and leaders of different professional groups. Rangpur superintendent of police (SP) Hasif Aziz chaired the meeting while it was attended by director general (DG) of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) Hasan Mahmud Khandaker as special guest.
The IGP said he hoped the government would declare police reforms ordinance shortly.
He warned that action would be taken against policemen for doing misdeeds. Rab DG asked members of the law enforcing agencies to work for uprooting Islamic militancy and drug trade.
Among others, DIG of Rajshahi Range Moklesur Rahman, Rangpur Police Training Centre Commandant Mili Biswas and president of Rangpur unit of community policing Sadrul Alam Dulu addressed.
