'Allocate more funds for technical edn'
Speakers at a seminar held here yesterday stressed on the importance of technical education to make Bangladesh a middle-income country by 2020.
Haji Abul Hossain Institute of Technology organised the seminar on 'Technical Education: A Tool for Building a Prosperous Bangladesh' at the institute's auditorium.
Executive magistrate of Tangail Farhad Hossain inaugurated the seminar as chief guest while it was attended by district education officer Laila Khanom, institute's chairman Sanwar Hossain and principal AM Shofiuudin as special guests.
Speakers demanded more allocation in technical education sector.
The institute's course coordinator Tushar Kanti Chowdhury presented a keynote paper and Tangail Polytechnic Institute Electronics Department chief instructor Mridul Kanti Debnath acted as moderator.
Headmasters of about 200 high schools and madrasas of 12 upazilas took part.
