Three-day Mango Fair and Gambhira Festival in Rajshahi
Amidst festivity, a three-day Mango Fair and Gambhira Festival concluded in Rajshahi last Sunday at the Loknath High School premises.
Varieties of homegrown mangoes that included both green and ripe ones were on display at 12 stalls. The stalls were set up by different government and private horticulture centres, nurseries and individuals from Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj.
Artistes of cultural organisations from the two districts rendered Gambhira, a popular genre of folk songs accompanied by dance on the concluding day.
Banglalink sponsored the festival.
Rajshahi Police Commissioner Muhammad Mahbub Mohsin attended the concluding ceremony as chief guest while 'Amra Rajshahibashi' president Abdul Matin Khan presided over the programme.
Maruf Mizan, regional chief of Banglalink and Rajshahi Sports Association general secretary, Imteaz Ahmed Shamsul Huda attended the programme as special guests.
Later, organisers distributed prizes among the best gambhira performers.
