She draws govt salary from 3 instts
A teacher is serving three educational institutions simultaneously and taking government salary against the posts under MPO (monthly pay order) for years.
She continued drawing salaries from the three institutions even three months after an education ministry audit report recommended stopping her salary.
Bulbul Nahar joined Shahidul Bulbul Karigari College in Kamarkhanda upazila in Sirajganj district as the principal on December 13 in 1998, where she got MPO on April 1 in 2001, an audit report of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education said.
She has been serving at the position still now and drawing salary in the scale of Tk 13,750.
Earlier on September 27 in 1995, she joined Konabari Shahidul Bulbul College as a lecturer of social science. She is serving there now and drawing salary, the report said.
While holding the two posts, she with her husband Shahidul Islam Bulbul, ex-MP of Sirajganj-5 (Belkuchi and Kamarkhanda upazilas), established City Business Management College near their Dhaka house at Mirpur and joined there as the principal. She got MPO on May 1, 2005 and has continued drawing her salary from the post still now.
The audit report submitted on march 9 this year said she is drawing government money from at three institutions.
The audit report also mentioned that she joined Sher-e-Bangla Government Primary School at Mirpur in Dhaka on April 15 in 1987 as a headmistress and served there till February 28 in 2002. She drew her salary from there for those 15 years.
She was asked to reply on the alleged irregularities and corruption but she is yet to make any response, said the audit report signed by Benazir Ahmed, assistant director of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (College-3). The report also recommended stopping her salary.
According to another audit report submitted by Prof Md Ali Akbar Khan, director of Inspection and Audit Department under the Ministry of Education, Bulbul Nahar was asked to return all the illegally drawn money but she is yet to return it.
When newsmen went to Shahidul Bulbul College at Bagbati in Kamarkhanda upazila for her version on Wednesday, principal Bulbul Nahar offered them a money and asked them not to publish the story. As the newsmen rejected, she threatened to lodge case against them.
