JMB cadre held in Joypurhat

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a JMB member, chargesheeted in an arms loot case, from Uttar Moheshpur village in Khetlal upazila yesterday.
The arrestee was identified as Dudu Mia alias Member, son of Abdul Quddus alias Abdul Karim of Uttar Moheshpur.
Police and Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) members had clashed at the house of JMB regional leader Montejar Rahman at Moheshpur village on August 14, 2003.
Seven policemen, including the then Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), were injured during the clash with the cadres of the banned Islamist outfit. The JMB cadres also looted three shotguns, 40 bullets and a wireless set from the police.
Sixty-one JMB members were chargesheeted in this connection.
The court on May 13 took the charge sheet into cognizance and issued warrant for arrest of 10 absconding accused in the case, including Dudu Mia.
