An anti-graft tribunal yesterday sentenced a telephone operator of Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone Board (BTTB) to three years' imprisonment for not submitting wealth statement to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The convict Mohammad Shajahan, a telephone operator of the overseas trunk call section at Moghbazar branch of T&T, is currently on the run.
The Seventh Special Court of Judge Sirajul Islam also fined Shajahan Tk 5 lakh, in default, to suffer one year more imprisonment.
