VoIP equipment worth Tk 20 lakh seized in city

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) last night recovered equipment of voice over internet protocol (VoIP) worth about Tk 20 lakh from a building at Mirpur in the city.
Members of Rab-11 conducted the two-hour drive from 8:00pm on the second floor of the building at Phalpotti of Mirpur Section-10.
Rab said they have seized two gateways, two channel banks, 36 SIM cards of GrameenPhone and Banglalink, several high frequency antennas and various electronics goods from the building.
Captain Kawsar Jahan of Rab-11 told The Daily Star, the VOIP machineries were found abandoned. Owner of the valuables Sirajul Islam has managed to escape, he said.
