Guardians demand proper facilities for students
Guardians of students of Mawlana Bhasani University of Science and Technology (MBUST) at a view-exchange meeting yesterday urged the government to provide all facilities for its students as in other universities.
The university was set up by great leader Mawlana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani and it should be provided with sufficient funds to create facilities at last for the sake of the great leader, they said.
Academic activities are being greatly hampered for want of sufficient teachers, well-equipped laboratories, hostels, transports and other facilities, which need budgetary allocation, they said.
Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Monimul Haque presided over the meeting organised by the institute.
The VC said he has been trying to overcome all problems of the university. "I have already talked to authorities about problems and requirements of the university," he added.
MBUST Register Prof Nurul Islam; Dr AKM Mohiuddin, chairman of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering department; Dr Younuch, chairman of Environmental Science and Resource Management; Motiur Rahman, chairman of Computer Science and Engineering department; Abu Bakar Siddiqui, chairman of Textile Engineering department; Nazrul Islam Patwari, chairman of Information and Communication Technology department and Criminology and Police Science Department chairman Asaduzzaman Sadi attended at the meeting and answered questions from the guardians.
