VoIP equipment worth Tk 50 lakh seized in city

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) seized Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) equipment worth about Tk 50 lakh in a business office in the city's Dhanmondi area last night and arrested its three staffs.
The arrestees are identified as Rafiqul Islam, Anisur Rahman and Jewel.
Acting on a tip-off, Rab-1 members raided an apartment on the fourth floor of a building at Free School Street and seized 95 tellulars, two gateways, eight quantums, four telephone sets and 50 SIM cards.
Rab officials said the arrested persons had been carrying out the illegal VoIP business at the apartment for a long time.
