Gen Jacob's clarification

A news item published by some newspapers yesterday saying “Jacob wants immediate trial of war criminals” has come to the notice of the retired Indian army general.
Lieutenant General (retd) Jacob denied having made such comment.
Before leaving Dhaka, Gen Jacob said in a statement: “No such comment was made by me during my visit to Bangladesh. Officers from Bangladesh army were present to confirm this.”
Gen Jacob expressed his deep concern at the motive of “interested quarters publishing untrue and misleading sensitive information,” according to an ISPR press release.
Major General (retd) Lachman Singh, another member of the Indian delegation, also denied having made any statement calling for trial of war criminals, a spokesman for the Indian High Commission said.
