British HC staffs to help patients at ICDDR,B
Staff members from the British High Commission in Dhaka have taken an initiative to help patients from ICDDR,B who had been affected by the aftermath of recent flooding, specifically those suffering from waterborne diseases and other complications.
They collected personal contributions and then bought and distributed milk powder, high energy biscuits and saline packs to around 400 patients - mostly infants - at ICDDR,B.
A team of seven members of the High Commission yesterday visited ICDDR,B at Mohakhali, and handed over the saline packs to Mark Pietroni, Administrator and Consultant Physician of ICDDR,B.
They personally distributed the milk powder and biscuits to every patient, leaving a surplus with ICDDR,B for new patients coming from flood affected areas.
