JF Moriarty named as US envoy in Dhaka
US President George Bush has nominated James F Moriarty of Massachusetts to be the new ambassador of the United States to Bangladesh.
Moriarty, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, most recently served as the US ambassador to Nepal.
Prior to this, he served as special assistant to the president and senior director for Asian Affairs on the National Security Council, a press release of the US Embassy said.
Earlier, Moriarty served as a counselor in the Political Section of the American Embassy in Beijing. He received his bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College.
