Ferdousi Mojumdar honoured

Eminent theatre personality Ferdousi Majumdar was honoured at the ongoing theatre festival organised by Jahangirnagar Theatre on March 11, says a press release.
Pro-Vice Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University, Dr. Mohammad Muniruzzaman was present as the chief guest while Dr. Syed Kamrul Ahsan, president, of Jahangirnagar Theatre and proctor of JU, presided over the event. Rashid Harun, lecturer, Department of Drama and Dramatics also spoke at the event.
“To emerge as a theatre activist from a conservative family, as Ferdousi Majumdar did, was quite a valiant move for a woman in our society at that time. Through her illustrious career she has added new dimensions to the theatre arena of our country,” said Muniruzzaman in his speech.
“One should not be afraid of criticism. Moving ahead with confidence and honesty always leads to success,” said the actress.
