2nd International Nazrul Conference to be held in August
The International Nazrul Research Centre's steering committee arranged a meeting on March 10 at the Baton Rouge Restaurant, Gulshan. Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hasan Farazandeh was the chief guest at the event, says a press release. Nazrul researcher and the chairman of the committee Asadul Haque presided over the conference and secretary general Rashedul Hassan gave the welcome speech.
Chairman of ATN Bangla Mahfuzur Rahman presented the main speech at the meeting. Among others, Nazrul researcher and teacher of University of Liberal Arts, Professor Rafiqul Islam; music exponent Dr. Karunamay Goswami; Iranian Cultural Counsellor Dr. M. Reza Hashemi; representative of Turkish Embassy Barack Ersoy, Political Attaché of Chinese embassy Zang Zi Jhong; Nazrul artiste Khalid Hossain and Sujit Mostafa spoke at the event.
The decision to arrange the 2nd International Nazrul Conference was announced at the meeting. The conference will be held in Dhaka from August 27 to 29 this year. Mafuzur Rahman was declared chairman and Rashedul Hassan Shelly was appointed as the chief coordinator of the conference committee.
