4 kg heroin seized in Benapole

Officials of the Department of Narcotics Control, Jessore, yesterday arrested four drug peddlers at Durgapur village and recovered four kilograms of heroin worth Tk 4 crore from their possession.
The arrestees are Alamgir, Jahangir, Ibrahim and Tarun.
Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Hafizur Rahman, deputy director of the Narcotics Control Department, went to Alamgir's house under the guise of heroin buyers in the afternoon and arrested him with one kg heroin.
On the basis of his statement, the team members then raided the houses of Jahangir, Ibrahim and Tarun and arrested them with three-kg heroin.
The arrested drug peddlers were taken to the local office of the Narcotics Control department for quizzing.
