Shakib op a success
Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan's surgery on his right leg was completed successfully at a Sydney hospital yesterday.
Dr Martin Sullivan, a leading international foot and ankle surgeon and an expert in treating foot and ankle conditions, conducted the release surgery on Shakib's right calf for Exertional Compartment Syndrome, one of the three problems he was diagnosed with, at the North Shore Private Hospital in Sydney.
“I talked with Shakib over phone today [Tuesday] and he is okay after the operation. He will be released from the hospital tomorrow [Wednesday] morning local time. Shakib will consult with a physiotherapist next Monday,†informed BCB physician Dr. Debashish Chowdhury yesterday.
The all-rounder will be sidelined for six weeks. It is expected that the stitches will come off in two weeks and the player should be able to start running in three weeks.
