2000 Jamaat-Shibir men sued in Pabna

Police in Pabna have filed four separate cases against 2,000 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student front Islami Chhatra Shibir in connection with the Saturday's clash.
The Jamaat-Shibir clash with police during the half-day hartal enforced by Jamaat in the district left two people dead, reports UNB.
Noor-e-Alam, officer-in-charge (operations) of Pabna Sadar PS, filed three cases and Samar Kumar, sub-inspector of the same police station, filed another case accusing 2,000 people on Saturday night.
The accused include some top leaders of Pabna Jamaat, police said.
Police also arrested Ameer of Kushtia Sadar upazila unit Jamaat-e-Islami Mosarraf Hossain yesterday.
Mosarraf, also Kushtia Sadar upazila chairman, was the prime accused in a case filed on 5 November 2012 for attack on law enforcers, reports our correspondent.
Two teams form Kushtia Model police station and Detective Branch (DB) of Kushtia arrested him soon after he came out of a meeting held at upazila complex at about 1:30pm.
According to police, Jamaat men attacked the on duty police during their rally in NS Road in the town on November 5 last year.
Police sued 62 Jamaat-Shibir activists with Kushtia Model police station on the same night.
