JU hall construction work resumes
The construction work of a hall and new administrative building of Jahangirnagar University resumed yesterday, a day after it came to a halt allegedly due to extortion demand by pro-Awami League Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists.
On Thursday night, some 8-10 BCL men went to the under-construction Rabindranath Tagore Hall and slapped the night guard, demanding extortion, said sources.
So the construction work stopped on Friday. The construction firm resumed the work after the university authorities assured the firm officials of security on the campus.
