Today's SSC exams shifted to Friday
The government has postponed today's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations due to a countrywide hartal called by Jamaat.
The postponed examinations under 10 education boards have been rescheduled for Friday, said a handout of the education ministry. The exams will be held from 9:00am to 12:00pm, it added.
Jamaat-e-Islami has called the dawn-to-dusk hartal protesting at the upcoming verdict on party leader Abdul Quader Mollah in a war crimes case.
Examinees of eight general boards today were supposed to appear in Bangla-2nd Paper (compulsory), Shohoj Bangla-2nd Paper and Bangla Bhasha O Bangladesher Sangskrity-2nd Paper exams.
Candidates of the madrasa board were slated to take the exam on Quran Mazid and Tazbid.
Examinees of the technical board were supposed to sit the exam on Social Science and those of dakhil (vocational) on Quran Mazid and Tazbid-2nd paper.
A total of 13,03,203 students from 27,073 educational institutions registered for the SSC, dakhil (secondary level of madrasa) and SSC vocational exams that began on Sunday across the country.
Earlier, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid urged the political parties to act responsibly when holding programmes during such examinations.
Meanwhile, all the examinations under the National University have been postponed due to the hartal. The postponed examinations will be held on Friday.
