SSC admit cards issued with error
Students of East Bengal Institution, a secondary school in the capital's Sadarghat, last evening staged demonstration and vandalised the institute's gate and windows, demanding immediate correction to their admit cards for the upcoming SSC examinations, which will begin on February 3.
They also blocked the road in front of the school for two hours from 6:00pm.
The students told The Daily Star that a total of 153 out of 192 students got admit cards with different types of errors while 13 others were yet to get their cards. The rest of the admit cards are okay, they said.
The said some admit cards contained errors in the names of the candidates while some others had errors in the registration numbers or even in the names of groups.
Officer-in-charge Rafiqul Islam of Sutrapur Police Station said after hearing the incident they talked to the teachers who told them that they were contacting Dhaka Education Board for the last two days to correct the errors.
The students withdrew from demonstration after the teachers assured them of giving corrected admit cards by tomorrow (February 2).
