Inclusion of informal workers' rights in labour law stressed
The rights of informal workers should be included in the labour law after amending it, said speakers at a programme yesterday.
The informal workers are robbed of their rights as they are excluded from the labour law that only protects the rights of formal workers, they added.
They said this at the conclusion of a two-day national conference "Rights of manual labourers: Solutions to overcoming discrimination and unfairness; demand for guarantee of work, wages and safety."
The conference was organised by the Bangladesh Labour Rights Forum at the National Academy for Planning and Development in Nilkhet of the capital.
