Top 100 in UK
A list of 100 most powerful Bangladeshis in Britain has been released. They helped shape Britain for the better with their ideas, talent and success.
"British Bangladeshi Power 100" list, 2013 was published in the UK on Tuesday, according to a booklet on the profiler's website www.bbpower100.com.
"We continue to pay tribute to those who are helping shape Britain for the better with their ideas, example, talent and success and have endeavoured to unearth some hidden jewels," the booklet says, quoting its founders and editor Abdal Ullah and Ayesha Qureshi MBE (Member of the British Empire).
The list has twenty categories -- entrepreneur, brand, politics, policy/civil service, legal, restaurateur, professional, networks & associations, academic/think tanker, medical, the city/finance, community activist, media, culture, community personality, sport, religious figure, community organisation and emerging influence.
This year's list consists of 100 people and organisations across the 20 categories. The list is independently judged and ranked by a panel lead by Iqbal Wahhab OBE (Officer of the British Empire), a visiting professor at London Metropolitan University Business School; fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts and board member of the Mayor's fund for London, and Syed Nahas Pasha, editor in chief of a Bangla newspaper Weekly Jonomot.
