Emirates adds 3 Boeing aircraft to fleet
Emirates has added three new Boeing 777F aircraft with 103 tonnes capacity each to boost up SkyCargo, its dedicated freighter network, the airlines said in a statement yesterday.
The new freighters take SkyCargo's fleet to 10 aircraft and its dedicated freighter network to 12 destinations, including Chittagong in Bangladesh. A fourth new Boeing 777 freighter will join the fleet in March this year.
Other destinations are: Taipei, Eldoret, Lilongwe, Kabul, Almaty, Gothenburg, Zaragoza, Viracopos, Tripoli, Djibouti and Liege.
“Our dedicated freighter fleet, coupled with our cargo capacity on our passenger fleet of 185 wide-bodied aircraft that flies to 128 destinations in 74 countries, gives us extensive global reach and connectivity to the trade routes of the world,†said Ram Menen, Emirates divisional senior vice president of cargo.
The Boeing 777F aircraft is the most technologically advanced freighter available with lowest fuel burn of any comparable-sized cargo aircraft, according to the statement.
