Lottery held for jobs in Malaysia

A total of 3,251 candidates were selected primarily in Chittagong and Khulna divisions for jobs in Malaysia through a lottery yesterday.
The candidates will be selected finally after scrutiny of medical tests and documents.
“The candidates will be called for medical tests through mobile text messages (SMS) and newspaper notifications,” said Zahirul Islam Majumder, assistant director of Employment and Manpower Office, adding the scrutiny will be held from February 6-10 in Chittagong city.
A candidate will have to pay Tk 3,500 for the medical test, he said, asking job aspirants not to pay any money to any middleman.
The candidates who will receive the jobs will have to spend Tk 40,000 each, including air-ticket prices, for going to Malaysia, he said.
In nine upazilas of Noakhali, 811 Malaysian job seekers were primarily selected out of 31,335.
In Brahmanbaria, 744 candidates were selected.
