Two killed, 50 injured in road crashes

Two women were killed and 50 people injured in two road accidents in Comilla and Jamalpur districts yesterday.
In Comilla, two women were killed and 30 people injured when a bus fell into a roadside ditch after being hit by a truck on Comilla-Brahmanpara road at Ichhapur in Burichang upazila at about 2:00pm. The unidentified women died on the spot.
Ten of the injured were admitted to different hospitals and clinics.
Jamalpur correspondent adds: At least 20 people were injured when a Dhaka-bound bus overturned and fell into a roadside pond when its driver lost his control over the steering at Beltia near the town at noon.
Of the injured, Zaharul Haque, Shajahan, Abdul Mannan, Milton, Arif, Ashraf Ali and Kanu were admitted to General Hospital.
