Dhaka falter in 2nd round

Dhaka stumbled in the second round of the World Cities Team Chess Championship when they lost to London 3-1 in United Arab Emirates on Sunday.
Dhaka, who on Saturday beat Al-Ain of UAE in the first round, saw GM Ziaur Rahman and IM Minhazuddin Ahmed Sagar draw against GM David Howell and GM Simon Williams respec-tively while GM Niaz Murshed and IM Abu Sufian Shakil lose to GM Nigel Short and IM Zhou Yang Fan respectively.
Dhaka, representing Bangladesh, were scheduled to face Lund City of Sweden last night in the third round. Dhaka earned 2 match points and 4 game points at close of the second round.
