Man held with fake Indian notes

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a man with counterfeit Indian notes worth Rs 16.93 lakh from Satroshia village under Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj yesterday.
Lt Col Monzurul Alam, commanding officer of 9 BGB Battalion, said they arrested Mohammad Jewel, 27, with the currencies after raiding his house around 4:00pm.
Jewel was involved in the trading of counterfeit Indian notes, and kept those for smuggling to India, he said.
A case was filed with Shibganj Police Station in this connection.
