Dipu Moni meets Thai premier
Foreign Minister Dipu Moni yesterday met visiting Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and discussed various issues relating to the mutual interests of the two friendly nations.
During the meeting, held at Shinawatra's hotel lounge, they also discussed potential areas of cooperation between the two Asian countries.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, Dipu Moni said, “All issues will be discussed tomorrow [today] during official talks between the two prime ministers -- Sheikh Hasina and Yingluck Shinawatra.â€
The foreign minister said two memorandums of understanding are expected to be signed today between the two countries on cooperation in agriculture sector and foreign secretary-level regular talks.
Shinawatra, Thailand's first female prime minister, reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 5:30pm yesterday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received Shinawatra at the airport.
Today, Shinawatra will visit National Memorial in Savar to show respect to Bangladesh's war heroes.
