Victory Day celebrations by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy
On Victory Day, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) organised a cultural programme and discussion. The cultural programme featured a musical soiree and dance performance. Artistes from the different socio-cultural organisations from different parts of the country performed at the National Theatre Hall of BSA.
Liaquat Ali Lucky, director general of the academy; Suraiya Begum, Secretary, Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artiste Ashfakur Rahman Khan, among others delivered speeches at the programme.
Artistes of Bangladesh Sangeet Sangathan Samonnay Parishad rendered patriotic songs. Inspirational songs were presented by singers of Ganasangeet Samannay Parishad. Artistes of Dhaka Sangskritik Dal and Nazrul Sangeet Shilpi Parishad (NSSP) also performed at the programme.
Dance drama “Shankaheen Pathchola†(directed by Dipa Khandokar) focused on how the Pakistani army embarked on their notorious Operation Searchlight to unleash a genocide against civilians of the then East Pakistan on March 25, 1971.
