AL , BNP men lock in gunfight

At least five people were injured as two groups of AL and BNP activists locked in a gunfight in Ishwardi rail gate area on Saturday night.
Police and the locals said, the clash erupted after a group of BNP activists chased the ruling party men in the area at about 8:00pm. Both groups fired several rounds of bullets during the half an hour long gunfight, they said.
Officer in-charge of Ishwardi police station Md Akbar Hossain said, during the gunfight traffic sergeant Sohrab Hossain and one Alam Hossain were injured by bullets. They have been admitted to Pabna medical college hospital.
Locals and the OC said, two groups of AL and BNP men in the rail gate area were at loggerheads for long for control of the tempo stand there.
