Nobel Peace Prize Forum Colloquium from Mar 7
The 20th Annual Nobel Peace Prize Forum colloquium will be held at Concordia College Moorhead, Minnesota, USA, on March 7 and 8, says a press release.
The Nobel Peace Prize Forum, organiser of the event, will honour 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr Muhammad Yunus who has been invited to deliver the keynote address.
The Forum has also invited Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) to join this annual colloquium.
A four-member IUB delegation led by Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Omar Rahman will take part in the colloquium. The other members are two students, Rubayat Khan and Limana Solaiman, and faculty member Dr Rita Yusuf of the School of Environmental Science and Management.
The Forum was established in 1988 in cooperation with the Norwegian Nobel Institute and is the Institute's only such programme or academic affiliation outside Norway. This year's pursuit is the exploration of 'the economics of peace from a small business lens'.
Dr Jeffrey Sach, director of the Columbia University Earth Institute and the UN Millennium Project, and Greg Mortenson, one of the authors of Three Cups of Tea, will also address the plenary sessions.
