Bangladeshi architect Rafiq Azam receives the South Asian Architect of the Year Award, 2011 from Shri Basil Rajapaksa, minister for economic development of Sri Lanka, at Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo, Sri Lanka on November 25. Rafiq won the award for his project, SA Residence, in the capital's Gulshan. It is a three-storied residence based around a pure square shape and constructed of a single material, cast concrete.
