Booters focussed on title
Bangladesh U-23 team have set their sights on the Mahinda Rajapakshe International Football Tournament trophy which will begin in Nawalapitiya, Sri Lanka on December 3.
Coach Saiful Bari Titu and manager, Satyajit Das Rupu, have expressed their confidence about winning the trophy during a press briefing yesterday.
Rupu said that the title of the last SA Games U-23 tournament will be the motivating factor for the booters. “We are reigning SA Games football champions and it was an Under 23 level tourney. We played our best to win the title and hope we will continue the trend†said the manager.
Titu echoed the manager's sentiment. He said, “The team is balanced and ready to play good football…I have every belief that if we produce our hundred percent on the field, there is no team that can beat us.â€
Bangladesh will play their first match against Pakistan on December 3 their second against Sri Lanka on December 5 and the last league match against Maldives on December 7.
