Father, son held for human trafficking

Coast guard personnel yesterday detained a man and his son at Teknaf in Cox's Bazar for their alleged involvement in a human trafficking syndicate.
They also recovered Tk 3.5 lakh from Abdul Motalib and his son Mohammad Isahaq of Shah Porir Dweep.
Acting on a tip-off, the coast guard personnel arrested the duo in Shah Porir Dweep Bedibadh area as they were about to buy a trawler with the money, said Lt Badruddoza, station officer of Coast guard at Shah Porir Dweep.
The arrestees were handed over to Teknaf Police Station and Coast guard filed a case against the duo.
