People could not enjoy eid
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Saturday said people of Bangladesh could not celebrate Eid-ul-Azha properly this year due to “bad economic condition”.
She also demanded that the Awami League-led government hands over power to a non-party caretaker government for holding the national polls.
She was talking to reporters after exchanging eid greetings with diplomats and dignitaries at the capital's Ladies Club.
She said the government has failed not only to provide security for people both at home and abroad but also food, clothing, and shelter.
Khaleda said although cattle markets were filled with animals, the buyers' presence in the markets was thin as people do not have money.
